Mental Health and Well-being Leadership
Senior Mental Health Lead at GJA
Miss Powell is the Senior Mental Health Lead at GJA. She has undertaken numerous training courses on mental health for pupils and staff, and has completed the course called 'Establishing a Whole School Approach' to wellbeing. The aim of the whole school approach is that our whole community are knowledgeable and committed, talk freely about mental health, have a positive culture and reduce the stigma around mental health, and do this collaboratively. It also aims for the whole community to raise quality and standards across the entire school for wellbeing.
Adult Mental Health First Aid Champion at GJA
Miss Sekhon and Mrs Aslam are our Adult Mental Health First Aid Champions. They have been trained to identify, understand and help someone who may be experiencing a mental health issue. They are available to listen, reassure and respond. Manjot and Athea have the skills, confidence and resources to support our members of staff at GJA.
Mental Health First Aid Champions
Our staff have completed a recognised course to enable them to become MHFA champions. Our MHFA champions know how to spot the signs and symptoms of mental ill health and provide help on a first-aid basis. Our MHFA champions know how to recognise crucial warning signs of mental ill health and feel confident to guide our pupils to appropriate support.
